"Women teaching women is an idea that really works", says Captain Lynne Fraker. This offers an opportunity for women to gain skills and build confidence as a sailor with respect, appreciation, and understanding of the difference between men's and women's ways of learning, thinking, and doing.

Move on to your goal of being a more confident crew, or to being the Captain of your own boat, in a relaxed, positive environment.

Sailing Instruction For Women

Meet Captain Lynne, holding a 100 Ton Masters USCG license and owner of the "Ena" since 1994.  Ena was a full-time home for 10 years with Tess, the Sea Dog. Lynne started sailing as a child on the Great South Bay. After moving to Martha's Vineyard, she left a career as an Occupational Therapist, with the goal of using a lifetime of experience to share her love of sailing. For the next 15 years, she divided her time between work as a delivery captain and instructional live-aboard courses for women in Long Island Sound, Chesapeake Bay, east and west coasts of Florida, The Bahamas, Virgin Islands, and Offshore Passages. She has also been an instructor of basic, coastal, and offshore navigation including assisting with US Coast Guard approved Captain License courses. Since 2001, Capt Lynne has been chartering and teaching aboard Ena.
