Sailing Instruction For Women

"Women teaching women is an idea that really works", says Captain Fraker. This offers an opportunity for women to gain skills and build confidence as a sailor with respect, appreciation and understanding of the difference between men's and women's ways of learning, thinking and doing.

Move on to your goal of being a more confident crew, or to being the Captain of your own boat, in a relaxed, positive environment.

Captain Lynne Fraker, who lives aboard and charters "Ena", has over 15 years of experience teaching women to sail. Lynne learned to sail as a child on the Great South Bay. She moved to the Marthas Vineyard to pursue her career as a Occupational Therapist but found herself spending more and more time sailing. After receiving a Coast Guard 100 ton Masters License she began dividing her time between work as a delivery captain and instructional live-aboard courses for women in the Long Island Sound, Chesapeake Bay, Florida, Bahamas, Virgin Islands, and Offshore Passages. Captain Fraker has also been an instructor of basic, coastal and offshore navigation including assisting with US Coast Guard approved Captain License courses.
